WEAPONS & ORDNANCE

One of the many tools of the soldier is the rifle he carries, in all of it’s many forms.  We use a variation on the “artificer’s box” to display our many weapons.  Here are a few of the weapons you may see in our exhibit.

M-1 Garand

M-1903 Springfield

M-1 Carbine

M-1928 Thompson Submachine Gun  “Tommy Gun”

M-1903A4 Springfield Sniper Rifle

M-1911A1 Pistol

M-1919A4 Light Machine Gun

M-3 Submachine Gun “Grease Gun”

M-1A1 2.36” Rocket Launcher  “Bazooka”

The “Liberator” Pistol, Revolver M-1942 “Commando”, M-1917 Enfield, M-1903A3 Springfield and other weapons from the period are frequently shown.

There are many more, and we will add photos shortly.  We do also display captured weapons, including the K-98 Mauser Rifle, the MP-40 Submachine Gun, the P-08 “Luger” and other captured weapons.

We are looking for display examples of the following firearms for the exhibit:

¨    M-2 Heavy Machine Gun

¨    M-1917A1 Medium Machine Gun, M-2 60mm Mortar

¨    M-1 81mm Mortar

¨    M-1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle  “B.A.R.”

If you can assist us in completing this exhibit, we would greatly appreciate your contribution.  Donations are tax exempt and are greatly appreciated, or if you own one of these weapons, we would love to have you join us and teach the public about them.
