Researching the Division:

One of the benefits of researching this U.S. Army division is the wealth of documentation that is readily available.   Via readily accessible databases, the basic records of more than 32,000 soldiers who served in the Division.  These records may include highest rank achieved while assigned to the Division, Army Serial Number, hometown, unit(s) assigned within the Division, ski training scores, medals and combat awards, W.I.A. / K.I.A. dates and location, and much more.  Through interaction with the National Archives, additional information about the individual soldier's enlistment may also be accessed.  This may also include date and place of enlistment, age, education and occupation at time of enlistment, marital status, citizenship and home location (county and state).     This information is not available for every soldier, but approximately 80% of the veterans are listed.   To make an inquiry, send an e-mail with known details to our Database Point of Contact.  This database was a 5 year project by the Database Committee of the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division.

In addition, the National Association assisted in the creation of a Tenth Mountain Division Resource Center, a cooperative arrangement between the National Association, the Tenth Mountain Foundation, the Denver Public Library (books, photographs and other written or printed material) and the Colorado History Museum (artifacts).  Cataloged and preserved for posterity, this resource is a great tool for anyone interested in the Division.

Museums desiring to obtain a temporary exhibit on the Division's WWII history should contact our Museum Exhibit Coordinator, Jeremiah ("Goose") Harris.    Through the Living History Display Group, local, regional and national museums and institutions of higher learning may access our extensive collection of artifacts, for temporary use.  Usually limited to 6 months or less in duration, access can include our 42' x 8' prepared diorama backdrop, mannequins, uniforms, artifacts and props, prepared signage, text and photographs to fill an exhibit space as large at 48' x 60'.    Organizations that have participated in our museum exhibit program include:
