Flint Whitlock
In 1982, Flint founded the 10th Mountain Division Living History Display Group to honor his late father (a 10th Mountain Division veteran) and all the other soldiers who served with the 10th Mountain in WWII.
As a result of his interest in living history, he began doing research on the division and the result was a book, Soldiers On Skis, which was published in 1992 and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. This success encouraged him to continue his writing career and become a best-selling military historian. In 1998, The Rock of Anzio was published, which tells the story of the 45th Infantry Division (Colorado and Oklahoma National Guard) in their 511 days of combat from Sicily to Dachau. He has a third book that will be published in 2004: Easy Red, Fox Green: The Untold Story of the 1st Infantry Division and the Normandy Invasion.
In addition to his writing pursuits, Flint is also the president and co-founder of the Colorado Military History Museum, Inc.
