David Little has been a military historian for much of his life. The son of an Army Air Corps veteran, he was raised studying the equipment and campaigns of WWII, and has focused his attention almost exclusively on the 10th Mountain Division for the past 20 years.

He is the President and a founding member of the Tenth Mountain Division Living History Display Group, Inc., which operates a traveling educational display of 10th Mountain artifacts.   Working in conjunction with the WWII veterans and the Tenth Mountain Division Resource Center, this group has provided display assistance for the Denver Public Library, Lakewood Cultural Center, Boulder History Museum and the Aurora History Museum.  It has also supported programs with the National Archives, the Department of Defense, and the Colorado Ski Museum as well as for schools, museums and libraries both in Colorado and in the mid-west states.   Dave sits on the Board of the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation, the only board member ever selected without service or family ties to the Division.

David is also one of the founders of a new museum in Colorado, the Colorado Military History Museum, Inc., which should be opening within the next few years in Denver.  This museum will feature a significant display on the 10th Mountain Division in WWII.  David also sits on the Board of Directors for the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation, Inc., and has been the Master of Ceremonies and organizer for the veteran’s Memorial Day ceremonies for the past several years.   As these veterans age, David has been instrumental in keeping local awareness high and participation up at this important event.

David’s education includes undergraduate studies in Psychology and Philosophy at Harper College and the University of Northern Colorado, and graduate studies in Psychology, Counseling and Theology at Northern Illinois University, University of Northern Colorado and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  He is currently considering pursuit of an additional degree in Museum Science.

David is employed with Georgia Pacific Corporation in Colorado, working as a Senior Product Specialist in the Building Materials Distribution Division.  He is experienced in marketing and operations management, as well as purchasing, sales and human resources areas.  David’s wife of 25 years, Terri, and his three children, Sarah, Benjamin and Danielle, share his enthusiasm for the Division, appearing at many of the events at his side.  Their support for his dedication and enthusiasm make it much easier for Dave to be an active participant in these pursuits.
