Earl Clark, Chairman of the Board of the 10th Mountain Division Foundation, welcomed the hundreds of guests. Dave Little, President of the 10th Mountain Division Living History Display Group, acted as Master of Ceremonies. Tom Hames, the son of a 10th veteran and President of the 10th Mountain Division Foundation, read the memorial prayer. Flint Whitlock, also the son of a 10th veteran, conducted the Benediction. Col. Arthur Bartell, Chief of Staff, 10th Mountain Division (Light) and Col. Kevin Wilkerson, Assistant Deputy Director, Political Military Affairs, Asia-Pacific, addressed the crowd. The 3 Battalion, 10th Special Forces group supplied the color guard and fire team that rendered the 21-round rifle salute. The Lake County High School Band played the Star-spangled Banner. Finally, members of the 10th Mountain Division Living History Display Group escorted the veterans and families to the monument during the wreath laying ceremony.

Do not stand at my grave and weep . . .

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake in the morning's hush,

I am the swift upflinging rush

of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft star-shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry . . .

I am not there. I did not die.
